The scope includes the full replacement of the hospital’s existing fire alarm system with a modern, fully compliant solution designed to meet the operational, clinical and life‑safety requirements of an acute healthcare environment. Works involved detailed site surveys, phased device and cabling replacement, installation of new detection and notification equipment, integration with existing building systems where required, and commissioning to relevant standards such as BS 5839. All activities were delivered within a carefully planned programme to minimise disruption to clinical services, with strict infection‑control measures, out‑of‑hours working where appropriate, and continuous coordination with estates teams, ward managers and clinical staff.
